Meet Lára Vukson and Beth Wickwire–the creative force behind Cowboy & Jack.

Known for their refined eye for light, minimalist elegance, and a shared dedication to client satisfaction, they bring together decades of experience in photography, styling, and design.

Lára, a photographer, and Beth, an interior and prop stylist, first met nearly twenty years ago on large-scale commercial sets. At the time, Lára was working as an Art and Creative Director while Beth styled props and interiors. Their paths continued to cross on campaigns for brands like HomeGoods and Dunkin’ Donuts, both in the studio and on location, laying the foundation for their long-standing creative synergy.

Over the years, their portfolio has grown to include collaborations with national and global brands such as Royal Caribbean, Volkswagen, TJ Maxx, VistaPrint, Crabtree & Evelyn, and Clark’s Shoes, as well as features in House Beautiful, Yankee, and This Old House. Their combined expertise has positioned them as trusted voices in the design and visual storytelling field.

What began as Lára’s growing interest in photography and Beth’s collaboration on interiors soon developed into a natural partnership. As a photographer–stylist team, their approaches “clicked”: Lára’s gift for capturing natural light and evocative imagery blends seamlessly with Beth’s refined eye for composition, detail, and narrative.

From sleek product shoots to lifestyle editorials and elevated interiors, their work is marked by clarity, warmth, and a touch of Scandinavian cool—an influence of their Icelandic and Norwegian roots, as well as their appreciation for vintage finds and timeless design. They believe in the power of simplicity, functionality, and material beauty to tell compelling visual stories.

The name Cowboy & Jack nods to Beth and her husband Barry’s rescue cats, inseparable brothers who often make appearances when shoots take place at Beth’s home. Playful yet stylish, the name reflects the grit, personality, and creative spirit that define their work together.

More about Beth:

Beth Wickwire is a stylist and creative consultant known for creating beautifully balanced, elegant sets. She often sources unique props from antique stores and flea markets, adding character to her work. Beth studied art history, ceramics, and sculpture in Italy, trained as a potter at Penland School of Craft; and directed art programs in Mexico, shaping her design perspective.

Her childhood trips to the Rockies and summers in Grand Teton National Park nurtured her love of natural landscapes. Her early career in auction appraisal sharpened her eye for form and decor. Now, she applies this expertise to styling, interior design, and creative projects for clients like HomeGoods and VistaPrint.

Beth has also worked on restoration projects with her contractor husband, including her own 19th-century home. Her family's history in TV renovation, including her childhood appearance on "This Old House," adds personal meaning. Beth excels in translating client visions into compelling imagery and is a trusted creative partner in both still and motion campaigns.

More about Lára:

Lára Vukson is a photographer with a successful twenty-year career as a creative director and designer in the advertising industry. She has led creative teams on national campaigns for brands including Royal Caribbean, Volkswagen, Dunkin, IBM, HomeGoods, and Google, directing countless photo shoots around the world and collaborating with some of the industry’s most renowned photographers.

While she built her reputation in advertising, photography has always been her truest medium—a constant thread connecting her background in painting, printmaking, and design to her lifelong love of visual storytelling. Shaped by a form of synesthesia that allows her to intuitively organize the world by color and tone, Lára brings a distinctive eye for detail and emotion to every image she creates.

Today, she runs her own design and photography studio, focusing on interiors, lifestyle, and still life. Her work blends a strategic sensibility with an artist’s sensitivity, resulting in images that feel intentional, elevated, and deeply human. Many of her photographs are inspired by Iceland, her family’s homeland, where Nordic light and the unique otherworldly landscape continually fuel her imagination.
